How to Make Sure That You Follow the Principles of Christian Dating?

There are a lot of opportunities to help you find that someone special both online and offline, but being a Christian, there are certain rules or principles that you have to follow. When you decided to accept Christ in your life, it goes without saying that your actions should reflect the Lord’s work in your life. So in order to remain blameless before the Lord when you enter dating, here are some reminders to help you.

Above all, it is always important to pray before you make any step. Ask for guidance and divine intervention, since this is an important step to finding the person to whom you are going to spend the rest of your life with. It is wise to ask for wisdom and discernment from God in choosing the right person, so have that close communication with God and allow Him to intercede in your decisions.

Never enter dating when you know that you are not mature enough to handle a relationship or when you are not even open to marriage. A true Christian is not one to play around toying with emotions simply for the thrill of the chase. But rather you should be responsible with your words and actions. Let your intentions be pure, and not take dating as a form of a game.

As a Christian, you should know and always remember that you should date someone who is also a believer. The Bibles explicitly says this in 2 Corinthians 6:14. This is the Lord’s reminder through His word that dating someone who does not share the same faith, could lead you astray. The verse even states, “For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness?” Also when you meet someone, who claims to be a Christian and yet whose behavior shows otherwise, know when you have to go.

It is also important that as Christians, you should steer clear from compromising situations. So when you set up a date with someone, make sure that these activities will help bless the two of you and not put you in the way of temptation. Even if you are a Christian, this does not guarantee that you may not succumb to temptations. So to help you fight it off, it would be wise for you to avoid these tricky situations entirely.

In Christian dating, it is important to start off as friends. When you start out as friends this allows both of you to take things slowly and to get to know each other better before you finally decide to take things further.

When you decide to date exclusively, always remember to keep God at the center of your relationship. The process of looking for someone to marry should not push you away from the Lord. Bless and help each other grow closer to the Lord. Pray together, have Bible studies, or even have double dates with other Christian couples. This will help create a healthy Christian relationship.

  1. Hey there. I wanted to share my recent experience. I found www.globogirls.com very randomly. From the beginning it looked to me kinda strange, girls looked too beautiful to be true but to my surprise I spoke to several of them with cam and even added them on facebook later, though still didn’t organize a trip together. Basically what I want to say is that site is full of people who are willing to get in touch and travel. But my advice is to be realistic; internet is like roulette-without trying there’s no champagne.
